Description
In this talk I review recent progress in the determination of the parton distribution functions (PDFs) of the proton, with emphasis on the applications for precision phenomenology at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). These include PDFs with LHC data, PDFs with small-x resummation, the determination of the charm quark content of the proton, and PDFs with QED corrections. I also discuss the role that PDFs play in Monte Carlo event generators. Finally, I discuss how PDFs in particular and small-x QCD in general provide unique input for the interpretation of the data from neutrino telescopes such as IceCube.
