ARC 6 RC2 status: people on the call confirmed that all known ARC6 issues are reported in bugzilla or git. During rest of the call we went through those tickets:

 

1) Bug 3798 - voms_trust_chain alternatives in arc 6

## voms_trust_chain - Define the DN chain that the host services trust when the
## voms AC from peer voms proxy certificate is parsed and validated.
 

Can be done more easily with the  "arcctl deploy voms-lsc atlas --egi-vo" tool

 

DECISION: voms_trust_chain functionality is more conveniently provide by the arcctl, therefore no need for this option in arc.conf.refeence. To be listed in the arc.conf.deleted.

 

2) 3806    shared_filesystem=no has no effect

DECISION: blocker for ARC6

 

3) 3812    A-REX hangs inside XRootd after fork (MAJOR)

fix available, to be tested

 

4) Bug 3813 - LDAP information system not working when everything is installed from sources

DECISION: to be investigated nevertheless not blockin for ARC6 because installation from source is not the recommended deployment method.

Related ACTION:  test bdii update 5.2.25 in the EPEL testing that should be confrmed with the RC3

David things it is a site configuration problem, not an ARC6 problem.

 

6) DISCUSSION of Andrii's proposal on howto make some RTE configuration value passing "easier", e.g. howto avoid long cli options for arcctl.

DECISION: we won't put the RTE configuration into the arc.conf.reference, some other method is to be proposed

 

7) Towrads the final ARC6 release:

The master is ready for a new tag.

DECISION: Tag RC3 and  Anders to start the build/packaging Today.

DECISION: even if RC3 would be perfect, we'd go for a very last  RC4 before the final release.

DECISION: Ultimate release date: by mid May.

 

8) What do ween for ARC6 final?

- fix the issues above

- resolve TODO's in the documentation as much as possible

- prepare the arc.conf examples for  WLCG pilot with slurm and pilot with condor.  data caching with slurm

- write reselease note
