Description
Solar energy now accounts for around 7 % of the electricity demand in countries like Italy and Germany. The global potential is enormous, and in Chile and the United Arab Emirates solar PV is now the cheapest new power production available. Many countries face huge challenges in transforming to a sustainable energy system, coming from a high share of fossil fuels. In Sweden, the objective is to have all demand covered by renewable electricity in 2040, which means replacing nuclear power in less than 25 years. So how do we use the creative power of Sweden’s excellent researchers and innovators to transform the energy system, in Sweden and globally? This is an opportunity not only to listen and learn, but also to give some input on how to make the most out of Swedish energy research.
