Description

The ATLAS experiment at CERN employs a large and widely distributed computing infrastructure to process and analyse data recorded by the LHC. This is built upon the WLCG network of sites, which provide hundreds of thousands of CPUs and storage approaching the exabyte scale, but also extends beyond this into opportunistic and exotic resources. I will describe the system currently employed, the challenges facing the experiment as the HL-LHC approaches and the on going developments and initiatives underway to confront this next phase of data taking and analysis.

I will also report on the contribution made by ATLAS to the fight against Covid-19, which is part of a larger, unified effort with CERN and the other LHC experiments.
