Balazs:

REST interface definition is completed and was posted to discuss. The spec is ready for coding. (http://www.nordugrid.org/arc/arc6/tech/rest/rest.html)

Balazs discussed the status of accounting subsystem with Andrii. Andrii will stay as the main coder/maintainer of this area. His immediate plan is to prepare a clean-up release where the "old file-based" accounting internals are removed and only the new database solution is kept. He checked the REST spec and find it sufficient to start implementing it. Actually, he already started to code the REST interface.

Mattias:

xrootd 5 is in Fedora rawhide, we should test if things are still working. David will run tests.

== Discussion about the accounting subsystem:

Balazs brought up the plan to simplify the accounting internals by removing the file-based (old) subsystem and keep only the database. The file-based was originally kept as a backup. Now that the system is stable, this redundancy can be removed.

David noted that some sites may be relying on the internal accounting files. For example, his BOINC system is  accessing accounting files directly.  He thought such a change should be done in a major release.

After discussion it was agreed that the cleanup can be done in the next minor release already.

ACTION: send out clarification about the current accounting subsystem status and our plan to remove the "old" one as of the next release.
