Wallenberg Centre for Quantum Technology (WACQT) is a 12-year 1 billion SEK research effort with the ambition to take Sweden to the forefront of the very rapidly expanding area of quantum technology. Through an extensive research program, it aims at developing and securing Swedish expertise within the main areas of quantum technology: quantum computing and simulation, quantum communication and quantum sensing.
WACQT, which started January 1st 2018, consists of a core project centered at Chalmers aimed at building a quantum computer that can solve problems far beyond the reach of the best conventional supercomputers and an excellence program with four pillars; Quantum computing, Quantum simulation, Quantum communication and Quantum sensing, metrology & control.
This presentation will give an overview of WACQT, the involvement from Lund and spotlight some of the developments during the first three years.
