TLS improvements are coming to shape, though no build yet. We're on the WLCG trust evolution task force. CentOS Stream 8 + SLURM test cluster is set up. HEPSCORE benchmark is coming, so we'd need to be prepared to work with several benchmarks at time.

Not tagged yet due to build issues (compatibility with old platforms which have no newer TLS). A longer discussion ensues regarding virtues of supporting insecure platforms wrt keeping formal procedures. A fix will be attempted, and if it doesn't work, we'll stop fixing builds for unsupported platforms (may in some cases imply stopping builds for really ancient platforms). In that case release notes should have the line "In addition we build nightly packages for older platforms" removed or adjusted. For the future, security is a good criterion for chosing which platforms to build for (OpenSSL version, 1.0.1 for the moment).
The tag will be attempted on Wednesday.
