== ARC7 release

Documentation is about to be completed, so code freeze should happen soon.

Branching: "next" should not be removed, other changes can be described in the documentation.

Package naming nordugrid-arc7 will happen after code freeze, release candidates are possible, in Fedora turning off automatic push to "stable" should be done. ARC7 will eventually be in UMD, UMD will do testing (need a reminder).

After code release, a week or so of testing should be allowed, after which tagging and release will happen within a couple of days.

Branching in Git: the proposal is not to use "main" or "master", but the release-specific branch. Tags are done on that branch. "arc8" will be branched off "arc7" , See the sketch in Indico below.

The current "arc6" will be branched off "master", and "arc7" will be branched off "next". Both "master" and "next" will be eventually removed (or will only have a README file explainng things).

Examples of VO mapping in arc.conf documentation may be added.

Slow arex start-up problems appear to be fixed now both in ARC 6 and ARC 7.
