NanoMAX is a flagship beamline at MAX IV aiming to fully exploit the exceptional low emittance, high brilliance and coherence properties of the ring. NanoMAX will use of diffraction limited optics to produce tightly focused coherent hard X-ray beams. A multi-mode imaging approach will be taken exploring coherent diffraction, scattering and fluorescence techniques. As a result, we can address a wide variety of important questions in physics, materials science, earth science, nano science, chemistry and biology. An introduction to the beamline and the present status of the project will be presented.
