20 December 2016, 14:00 - 15:15

Present: Jon, Balazs, Mattias, Maiken, Aleksandr, Anders,  David, Oxana

== News

Jon is busy hiring dCache developer (replacing Gerd) and looks for a data-intensive science community. Mattias retired canl-c++ from Fedora, and requested removal from Debian testing. Balazs attended the GOCDB planning meeting, they want to replace BDII, but the schema is terrible, and have writeable API (write once remove never). Bottom line: BDII will probably get retired, eventually. Oxana attended several meetings, learnt that CASTOR will be updated, will have no SRM interface at all (all tape staging functionality will be handles via xroot). Anders is busy with packaging, some build problems still exist on some systems (e.g. -doc on f25).

== Release

Release is out, nobody complained yet. Martin started merging python-lrms for the major release, will be followed by openssl, as planned.

Balazs wonders if anybody sent perforator logs to Andrii's server; nobody knows of any such case yet.

== Bugs

* Aleksandr took #3582, it is a real bug
* #3623 revealed that ATLAS sometimes pushes very long strings into args, and A-REX so far was cutting them at 4096 bytes, the limit is increased now
* #3625 - needs some thinkng, there are some valid use cases though some risks, too
* #3620 - needs investigation, logs are there but it is not clear how or where should they be uploaded. Performance logs upload script causes mass amnesia, so nobody knows where it is, or whether it exists at all. It is now discovered in /src/services/a-rex/perferator.in but it does not upload anything, and anyway Anders prefers it in Python.
