Abstract: "SpectraCure was started in 2003 as a start-up from the Division of Atomic Physics, with the vision to develop products for cancer treatment based on photodynamic therapy (PDT). Almost 20 years later and having followed a sometimes bumpy road, we are now running a clinical trial in three countries with the second generation PDT device. Johannes Swartling, CTO at SpectraCure and Ph D from the Division of Atomic Physics, describes the journey with lows and highs, and discusses some of the aspects of working in the interface between university research and commercial product development."
